Variety exclusively learned that Wonder Project is expanding into children’s programs by picking up two seasons of the new series “Fluff Pieces.”
“Fluff Piece” is from the creators of Sylvia Brindis, Shane Snow and Brian Donegan, and also stars Brindis. The Wonder Project has commissioned a total of 22 episodes, with the 10-episode first season set to premiere on July 9. Two episodes are released every week.
The show aims to teach young viewers media literacy and critical thinking skills through music, movement, and storytelling. According to the official logline, the show “follows Happy Herald’s cheerful reporter Fiona Flash (Brindis) and her animated dog sidekick and staff cameraman Fluff as they investigate ridiculous mysteries and rumors around town. Whether it’s a chase or uncovering the truth behind a rainbow puddle, the pair follows clues, checks facts, and discovers that things are rarely as they first appear. Young viewers known as “newshounds” are invited to join the show. Explore with them and promote curiosity, critical thinking, and the joy of asking good questions. ”
Each episode features an original song composed by Noisefloor’s Devin Delaney, with over 15 original songs featured throughout the first season. The musical sequence was choreographed by Xavier Nuñez of the Joffrey Ballet and features performances by dancers from the Joffrey Ballet Chicago.

“From the moment we saw ‘Fluff Piece’ we knew it was something special,” said Tristen Tuckfield, head of content acquisition at Wonder Project. “This series is funny, imaginative and incredibly entertaining, but it’s also built around skills that are important for today’s children, such as curiosity, critical thinking and asking good questions. Sylvia, Shane, Brian and the whole team have created a world that families will want to return to again and again. We’re thrilled to introduce Fluff and Fiona to our viewers this summer.”
Brindis, Snow and Donegan will serve as series writers, and Brindis, Snow and Robert O’Neill will serve as executive producers. Donegan is a producer along with Brandon XIV, Nick Bartlett, Erica Duffy and Jessica Black. Corey Coken, Jamie Vanadia, and Brian Hensley will serve as co-executive producers, with David “Big” Krause serving as co-producer. The series is produced by The Mad Ones Productions and is powered by Unreal Engine technology.
“We know that children consume hours of content by the time they enter kindergarten,” Brindis says. “As parents of young children, Shane and I wanted to create a show that centered around something that was important to us and that we wanted to pass on to our son: the pursuit of truth and the concept that we can pursue it with kindness and curiosity.”
