“Dutton Ranch” has been renewed for a second season on Paramount+.
The Yellowstone spinoff, starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser as Beth and Rip, was a hit for the streamer, becoming Paramount+’s biggest original series launch in history, topping the Nielsen Streaming Chart in its first week.
The show doubles as a sequel to “Yellowstone,” and follows Beth and Rip as they escape the ghosts of Montana and settle in South Texas. But as they fight to build a future together, they “collide with a brutal new reality and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect their empire,” according to the logline. “In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the only price you pay for survival may be your soul.”
“Dutton Ranch” is the work of creator Chad Feehan and executive producer Taylor Sheridan. It premiered on Paramount+ on May 15, with new episodes starting Friday. The season finale will air on July 3rd.
In addition to Riley and Hauser, the show also stars Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, JR Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, Ed Harris and Annette Bening.
The nine-episode first season is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. Executive producers also include John Linson, David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yali, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Hauser, Riley, and Keith Cox.
“Beth and Rip are one of the most iconic duos in television history, and we’re excited to bring a whole new world to life with Dutton Ranch for our subscribers around the world,” said Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals, Paramount+. “We are also incredibly grateful to our partners, including the teams at Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, who brought this new series to life with such grit, heart and authenticity.”
“‘Dutton Ranch’ resonated with audiences in a powerful way, building on the legacy of beloved characters while establishing its own identity,” said Matt Tournell, president of Paramount Television Studios. “We would like to thank our partners at Paramount+ and 101 Studios for an incredible Season 1. We look forward to bringing fans even more stories with these unforgettable characters in Season 2.”
