Meghan McCain shared some scathing thoughts about Tuesday’s interview with her former co-host, Vice President J.D. Vance.
“The biggest lesson I learned from Vance on ‘The View’ was honestly how cocky and undisciplined the hosts were,” McCain wrote through his former colleague X.
“Years later, they still get basic facts wrong, stumble over simple questions, or can’t finish a segment without yelling at each other,” her tweet continued.
Representatives for the View co-sponsors have not yet responded to Page Six’s request for comment.
Mr McCain, 41, praised the politician on social media for handling the controversial interview “very well”.
Specifically, Vance spoke with Whoopi Goldberg, Sarah Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, Joy Behar and Alyssa Farrah Griffin on Tuesday to promote his new book, “Communion.”
As Goldberg, 41, came under fire for topics such as inflation and the Epstein file, Goldberg was vocal about his dissatisfaction with his co-hosts, particularly criticizing Navarro.
“Anna, God! Please!” the “Act 2” star, 70, shouted after Mr. Navarro, 54, refused to stop questioning him when Mr. Goldberg asked for a break.
Before the show cut to commercial, she added, “Don’t do that!”
Mr. Goldberg also reprimanded Mr. Behar during the sit-in and tried to prevent the 83-year-old Mr. Behar from asking Mr. Vance additional questions.
Mr. Behar, clearly irritated with Goldberg, raised his hands and continued speaking.
After the episode ended, Vance revealed a “much better compliment” than he had expected from Behar — that he was “pretty good for a Republican.”
He said, “Gutfeld!” A listener said, “I expected them to be absolutely vicious, but they were just a little bit more violent. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.”
He was “skeptical” before the shoot, but told Fox News Digital, “Maybe I’m an optimist, but basically I think most people — not all, but most — even if I disagree with them, I should talk to them. … I hope we’ll meet halfway.”
McCain promised “Citizen McCain” listeners Tuesday that he would expand on the interview on his podcast.
She co-hosted the talk show from 2017 to 2021, but at the time of her exit, she claimed that she was “miserable” on set.
In December 2023, she brutally called her former co-host a “crazy old man.”
