Tom Cruise has reunited with all-star Steven Spielberg to support the director’s new alien thriller, Disclosure Day.
His Minority Report co-star Colin Farrell and War of the Worlds daughter Dakota Fanning were also in attendance for the screening of Disclosure Day, which opens in theaters on Friday.
“There’s nothing like a summer Spielberg movie night with friends in a packed theater!” Cruise wrote on social media. “Stephen, thank you for the hours of joy you gave us at the cinema!! It was such an honor and pleasure to work with you and call you my friend. Congratulations to my dear friend Emily and all the artists who made this film. You were amazing. We all loved ‘Disclosure Day’!!”
Cruise also brought a popcorn bucket in the shape of Spielberg’s head, complete with a plastic “Disclosure Day” cap. It looks like Cruise’s Spielberg head may be a custom-made popcorn container, as the movie’s official popcorn bucket is a 16-inch-tall stag with a cardinal sitting on top of its antlers.
This fall, Cruz will star in the satirical comedy Digger, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu. “Digger” will be Cruise’s first non-franchise film since 2017’s “American Made.” Since then, Cruise has produced three “Mission: Impossible” adventures and “Top Gun: Maverick.” Cruise is known for making surprise appearances at his movie premieres and supporting his co-stars. Last year, he appeared at a screening of “The Running Man,” starring fellow “Maverick” pilot Glen Powell.
