Charlamagne the God slammed Taylor Swift after her heated appearance at Wednesday’s NBA Finals showdown between the Knicks and Spurs.
“Why is Taylor Swift a New York Knicks fan?” the “Breakfast Club” host wondered during Thursday’s radio broadcast. “How did this happen?”
Co-DJ Envy quipped, “You’re from Reading, Pennsylvania. You’re with the (Philadelphia) 76ers.”
Swift, 36, showed up to Game 4 wearing a custom-made royal blue top that read “Stevie Nicks” in orange lettering.
The “Cruel Summer” hitmaker attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden to cheer on the New York Knicks with friends Alana and Este Haim, wearing shirts that read “Nickelback” and “Nickel Kidman,” respectively.
Her fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, missed a mandatory three-day minicamp in Kansas City.
At various points throughout the night, Swift was caught on camera blowing kisses to fans, screaming enthusiastically from her courtside seat, and chatting with fellow A-listers, including Zoolander star Kristin Taylor and reality star Kylie Jenner.
She was seen celebrating alongside Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay after the Knicks’ stunning come-from-behind victory with a final score of 107-106.
Page Six exclusively reported that Swift will be watching the game with friends before the game.
But Charlamagne wasn’t the only apathetic media personality to overshadow Swift’s outing.
Knicks radio analyst Monica McNutt went viral for her unintentional hot mic performance hours after the Knicks’ win.
In the viral clip, McNutt, unaware that he was on the air with announcer Tyler Murray, asked, “Is that Taylor Swift in there?”
Murray replied, “I don’t think so,” and McNutt pointed out Swift’s signature “long ponytail” and blue shirt.
When Murray took a picture for his wife, McNutt said, “She’s not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl.”
Charlamagne played audio of the leaked viral clip on his morning show, saying: “That’s what I’m talking about! Get out of here, girl!”
Regarding footage of Swift dancing after her big win, Charlamagne quipped, “I know Hula Hoop hates her. I know Hula Hoop is like, ‘Every time you put it on, we fall.'”
DJ Envy then defended the “Opalit” songstress, saying, “Just because the Knicks won, we don’t want to be too hard on her. Whatever it takes for the Knicks to win, no matter who’s in that building.”
Swift’s representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment Thursday.
