Paramount Pictures has released the trailer for the upcoming survival thriller movie Heart of the Beast starring Brad Pitt.
Pitt plays James Belmont, a former Army Special Forces officer who must find a way back to civilization after his small plane crashes deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Joined by a retired service dog named Odin, who protects him from bears, wolves, and other beasts, Pitt’s character battles the elements and embarks on a desperate attempt to climb mountains and cross rivers to survive.
“It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight between the dogs,” Pitt says in the trailer, later promising the dog, “I’m going to bring you home. We just have to work hard at this.”
Academy Award winners JK Simmons and Anna Lambe are set to star alongside Pitt, who will also produce alongside director David Ayer and Olivia Hamilton and Marty Bowen.
The project will reunite Pitt and Ayer for the first time since Sony’s 2014 World War II blockbuster Fury and follows Pitt’s Oscar-nominated lead role in F1. Heart of the Beast was written by Cameron Alexander and executive produced by Alexander, Damien Chazelle, Scott Lumpkin, Chris Long, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittaneguro, Andrew Lally, Sophie Cassidy, and Zach Conroy.
The action thriller was created in association with Domain Entertainment and Gulfstream Pictures, and produced by Wild Chickens, Temple Hill and Kino World Productions.
“Heart of the Beast” will be released on September 25th.
