As New York City braces for daily 80-degree heatwaves this week, Tribeca’s 25th Anniversary Edition is also bringing some serious heat to the city’s afterhours circuit.
This year’s festival, which runs June 3-14, opened with Questlove’s new Earth, Wind & Fire documentary and live performances by Earth, Wind & Fire and The Roots at Beacon Theater, and concluded with “Alicia Keys: Girl From Hell’s Kitchen.”
The interim milestone edition will see Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal anchor a series of private events sponsored by partners including OKX, Chanel, Diageo, AT&T, 8AM and City National Bank, turning Lower Manhattan into a revolving door of filmmakers, musicians, fashion figures and brand-name players.
“At Tribeca, the festival experience doesn’t end when the credits roll. Thanks to our partners, we’re able to create a space where filmmakers, artists and audiences can come together, connect, share ideas and celebrate creativity,” Megan Younger, Tribeca Festival’s senior vice president of partnerships, client services and activations, tells Variety. “From intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations, these events are an important part of the festival experience. They capture the unforgettable energy that makes Tribeca special and fulfill one of our core goals: bringing people together through storytelling, culture and joy.”
This anniversary year features one of Tribeca’s richest lineups, including 118 feature films, a record 103 world premieres, and tons of music-driven programming. But, as always, some of the festival’s most notable moments happen after the credits roll, as premiere after-parties, filmmaker lunches and late-night brand activations take place at downtown restaurants, hotels and members-only rooms. Here are this year’s hottest Tribeca Festival parties and events.
