Simone Biles has revealed she is on the road to recovery after a mysterious medical emergency.
“I’m not someone who usually shares things like this because in today’s day and age we value privacy,” the Olympian wrote on her Instagram Story on Saturday.
“But almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week,” Biles, 28, continued.
“This was one of the scariest experiences of my life, especially since Jonathan went to Indy to practice,” she added of her husband, Jonathan Owens, who was attending an NFL preseason practice with the Indianapolis Colts.
Noting that she spent a week resting in bed, she promised to fill her supporters someday.
The award-winning gymnast thanked her “close circle” for “checking in, visiting and sending flowers.”
Biles continued with a series of stories showcasing the bouquet of flowers sent to her, and ended with a shot of himself in bed.
“I’m here,” Biles wrote.
Despite keeping the details private, the gymnast, who married Owens, 30, in 2023, has given her social media followers glimpses into her life over the years.
In April, Biles took to TikTok to share the shocking amount of money he spent on getting glammed up for an event with his pro team.
Biles confessed in the video that the “gross bill” with her hair and makeup artist and stylist was $23,000.
“I just want to know, is that normal?”
She quipped, “If that’s the new normal, you’ll all accept it. You’ll never see me at another event.”
“I’m going to sit here in a free place. I’ve been in some sort of vicious cycle ever since.”
Biles asked fans if they had been taken advantage of financially, telling viewers, “We just need to know if this is normal.”
She said, “There’s no way I’m going to pay these fees every time…that’s not going to happen.”
Biles last stepped out on April 20th at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid.
The gold medalist stunned in a mini dress by Vietnamese brand Cong Tri.
Biles was styled by Marc Desir for the night out.
At the time, she captioned a photo she posted on Instagram: “Basically an Oscar… but make it sporty.” “My first ever @laureussport World Sports Award as an Ambassador. I’m inspired by all the stories in the venue.”
