Anthony Head’s last red carpet appearance was three years before his death.
The late “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star attended the “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor of Thieves” UK premiere on March 23, 2023.
The actor smiled and posed for photos with his then-deceased longtime partner Sarah Fisher and their two daughters, actresses Emily and Daisy Head.

He also appeared to be using a cane at the premiere, as seen in the photo.
The British actor passed away on Friday, as Page Six previously reported. He was 72 years old.
His daughters confirmed the sad news in a statement, revealing that the actor “passed away peacefully” from complications due to pneumonia.
“It has been and continues to be an honor and privilege to be his daughters and to witness firsthand the impact he and his work had on so many lives,” the statement continued in part.
“We know how much he will be missed by his friends, colleagues, and fans of the shows he starred in. He loved his job so much and always considered himself incredibly lucky to have worked with such exceptionally talented people on such great work throughout his decades-long career.”
The brothers said their “heartbreak is far greater than the hole left by their father,” but they know their father’s “legacy will live on” thanks to the popular TV show he appeared on.
They also asked that their privacy be “respected during this difficult time.”
Anthony’s death came less than six months after Fisher died at age 61.
Emily and Daisy announced their mother’s “very shocking” death in a December 2025 Facebook post, sharing that it “happened with almost no warning.”
“There are no words to express all that she encompassed, and no words to describe the legacy her absence has left. We know how deeply she impacted so many people’s lives, and we could not be more proud of the legacy she left behind,” they wrote.
“We know how much of an impact she had on so many people’s lives, and we couldn’t be more proud of the legacy she left behind. We wish she had more time to share her knowledge and brilliance with us and the world.”
The couple were together from 1982 until her death, but never married.
Anthony is best known for playing Rupert Giles on all seven seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer from 1997 to 2003. Anthony worked very closely with Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Buffy Summers, as Giles was her mentor throughout the series.
Most recently, he played Rupert Mannion, owner of AFC Richmond and ex-husband of Hannah Waddingham’s Rebecca Welton, in the first three seasons of Apple TV’s hit comedy Ted Lasso.
Anthony’s other notable television roles include the British sketch comedy show “Little Britain” and the fantasy drama series “Merlin.” He appeared in an episode of “Bridgerton” in 2022.
