Lizzo revealed that an unexpected rainstorm caused havoc on the runway at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show in Florida on Saturday.
“Oh my god, it was so much fun,” the “Good as Hell” hitmaker told hosts Evan Leal and Danny Murphy of SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio in a new interview during an appearance at a fashion event.
“It was really crazy because it was raining out of nowhere and the runway was super slippery,” she said. “People were sliding all night and eating.”
The Grammy Award-winning singer described the Miami Swim Week event as “very intense,” but stressed that “everyone was such a good sport” and “kept pushing until the end.”
“I didn’t slip,” she said.
When asked if she “met someone for the first time” at the iconic swimsuit-themed event, the “About Dumb Time” singer shared how she met influencer Alix Earle.
“She’s really amazing,” Rizzo said. “I actually couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I was like, ‘Fuck you, I get it!'”
Lizzo, 38, co-headlined the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Show at W South Beach with Earl, 25.
Other notable stars who walked the runway included “Real Housewives of New York” alum Bethenny Frankel, 55, and Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, 25. “Girls’ Trip” actress Tiffany Haddish, 46 years old. “Vanderpump Rules” alum Stassi Schroeder, 37 years old. And “Baywatch” bombshell Brooks Nader, 29. Among other things.
The Yitty shapewear designer modeled an electric blue bodysuit emblazoned with the word “Bitch” for the show. This is a nod to her frankly named new album, released Friday.
When asked about her fashion line’s eye-catching swimsuits, plunging dresses, Lizzo gushed about the big night, saying, “I just felt sucked into it.”
She further joked that “the girls were Ittin’s,” adding that she remembered thinking, “This suit has to say ‘bitch,’ and we just did it.”
Lizzo then attended a star-studded afterparty at Miami’s E11even with Frankel, Earl, Shay Mitchell, and more, a source told Page Six, where she “enjoyed chicken fingers, fries, and plenty of tequila shots.”
As for her new album, the “Juice” songstress admitted that it “changes every day,” but revealed her favorite new song.
“Right now, I love ‘Sexy Ladies.’ I think it’s because everyone loves sexy women. And it’s so easy to love that. It’s summer, right?”
