Brad Pitt was on the set of Amazon MGM Studios’ motorcycle racing movie ‘Isle of Man’, starring Channing Tatum and Eve Hewson, when the cameras started rolling just as the iconic race was taking place.
Filming took place on the Isle of Man, a small island nation in the Irish Sea, for about a week. The film is directed by Reid Carolyn and produced by Guymon Cassady and Jason Keller of Pitt’s Plan B, Tatum and Carolyn’s Freedom Association, and Entertainment 360.
The Isle of Man TT is one of the most famous and dangerous races for motorcyclists around the world. The history of the race dates back to 1907, when road racing was banned in England and racers sought refuge on the Isle of Man. One lap of the course consists of 59.7 miles across the island’s road network, with bikes racing through country roads and city streets at speeds of up to 200 miles per hour. Since 1903, more than 150 people have died while racing or practicing, and in 2022 there will be five deaths.
On Thursday, Pitt mingled with fans in the main grandstand of the race and was photographed next to competing Italian rider Andrea Maggiola (pictured above). A press release issued by Magiola’s team said: “He spent extended periods of time around Magiola’s paddock in order to fully immerse himself in the racing atmosphere.”
In addition to Tatum and Hewson, the cast of “Isle of Man” reportedly includes Ciaran Hinds, May Karamawi, Ruaridh Mollica and Eanna Hardwick. Carolyn co-wrote the screenplay with Jason Keller (Ford vs. Ferrari) and Brian Johnson.
The film is part of a broader deal between the producers and Amazon MGM Studios, which also includes a behind-the-scenes documentary series filmed during the 2024 Isle of Man TT race, titled The Greatest Race on Earth.
