Malin Akerman praises her ‘sexually powerful’ character in ‘The Hunting Wife’

Malin Akerman loves her character Margo Banks from The Hunting Wives.

“This is a fun character,” the actress exclusively told Page Six at the Gotham Television Awards in New York City on Monday night. “She’s unapologetically sexually powerful. Who wouldn’t want that?”

Ackerman, 48, added that she is “living vicariously” through Banks and “enjoying every moment of that power,” but noted, “She’s not a great role model!”

Netflix’s hit series will be released in 2025 and tells the story of Banks (Ackerman), a sexy housewife and queen bee of a group of elite, wealthy socialite wives. She develops a romantic interest in the group’s newcomer, Sophie O’Neill, played by Brittany Snow.

The series, which features plenty of risqué moments, including threesomes, is back for season two.

Asked if he feels “hot” when playing a sexually provocative character, Ackerman laughs out loud.

“When you wear a wig, you take on that character and that accent,” she answered. “Yes, I feel hot! It’s Margo King Banks! She’s all about it!”

Dermot Mulroney, who plays Margo’s lustful husband Jed Banks, was equally enthusiastic about the show when Page Six spoke about it last year.

“It’s already bringing so much joy to people,” he exclaimed. “It’s a lot of fun to be a part of.”

“I probably haven’t felt that creepy searing heat in a while,” he noted. “This show really got people to the funny bone. Say whatever else you want to say.”

Elsewhere in the Page Six interview, the Swedish-born Ackermann also talks about what Americans think of her home country.

“Sweden is often mistaken for Switzerland,” she explains, adding that when she arrived stateside, she was often asked about the fictional Swedish Bikini Team, a group of models that appeared in an advertising campaign for Old Milwaukee Beer.

“I was like, ‘Swedish bikini team? There’s no Swedish bikini team!'” she exclaimed.

But the “Billions” alum said she loves Ikea’s Swedish meatballs, an American spin on a famous recipe from her home country.

“My son is obsessed with IKEA meatballs. Every time we go to IKEA, he buys meatballs,” she said. “(But) I prefer homemade.”
