Ciara Wilson shared her supportive reaction to husband Russell Wilson’s “step or two” as he left the football field.
The “Best in the World!” singer, 40, gushed via Instagram after the athlete announced his NFL retirement on Wednesday.
“There’s only one, there’s three!” her comment continued, referencing the quarterback’s uniform numbers for all 14 seasons of his career.
The Grammy winner concluded, “I’m always so proud of you! It’s such a blessing to be on this journey with you! You’re my biggest inspiration! I love you so much! 🐐🫶🏽.”
Wilson, who married Ciara in 2016, shared the big news by sharing a highlight reel of his time playing with his social media followers.
Ciara shared the upload on her Instagram Story, highlighting that her partner is her “biggest inspiration.”
Wilson began his NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks in 2012 and remained with the Washington-based team until 2021.
He then had brief stints with the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants.
In a video Wednesday, Wilson called sports his “safe space” and spoke passionately about the “greatest gift” football has given him: the special bonds he has with coaches, players and fans.
Wilson also sent a message of encouragement to his and Ciara’s children, saying, “I hope I can give you what my dad gave me: that feeling, that dream of greatness.”
The Super Bowl champion and his wife have daughter Sienna, 9, son Win, 5, and daughter Amora, 2.
Wilson is also stepfather to Ciara’s son Future, 12, from a previous relationship.
“Thank you Mr. C,” he added Wednesday. “Thank you Ciara for being my biggest blessing. My best friend and my partner through everything.”
He met Ciara in 2015 midway through his NFL career and they got engaged the following year.
Specifically, Wilson will join CBS Sports’ NFL Today as a broadcaster and “continue to watch the greatest game on the planet.”
