Paulina Porizkova said she was “evicted” from her New York City apartment just days before she and her fiancé Jeff Greenstein were to marry in Italy.
The 61-year-old model revealed that she has been evicted from the Manhattan home she has lived in since 2021 after the landlord refused to extend her lease.
“No matter how great a tenant I was for six years, he really didn’t want to extend the lease, despite my begging and pleading,” Ms. Porizkova said this week on the podcast “Twenty Good Summers,” which she co-hosts with Ms. Greenstein.
“So I have to leave here four days before I get married in Italy. It’s not good.”
“We are both over 60 years old, but we are starting again,” Porizkova said.
“We are both starting over completely because I am moving out of this apartment that I love so much, that has kept me safe, and that has allowed me to grow as a woman.”
The former supermodel said she still has housing options.
“We are very blessed souls,” she said. “I have a country house that I co-own with my sons (Jonathan and Oliver), so we can move there, which is a little bit outside of New York City.
“Or he still has a house in L.A. (Greenstein) that’s currently on sale, but he could go there for the time being.”
“I can’t complain, but it was unexpected,” Greenstein added.
“This wasn’t our plan. Getting kicked out of this apartment four days before the wedding and going back to New York with nothing was not our plan.”
The couple also addressed the move in a joint Instagram post they shared on Monday.
“Friends, we were kicked out of our apartment four days before our wedding. Thank you, inconsiderate landlord! This, along with related emails from our loyal fans, inspired us to create an episode about moving in: when to move in together, how to reconcile our lives and tastes, and all the emotions that are unleashed by moving,” they wrote. “Box it up and join in the fun!”
Greenstein, a television writer and producer, proposed to Porizkova in July 2025 after two years of dating.
Porizkova was previously married to the late Cars frontman Ric Ocasek. The pair married in 1989 and had two sons, Jonathan, 31, and Oliver, 27, but announced their divorce in 2018 after 28 years of marriage.
Last month, Porizkova celebrated her 61st birthday by posting a video of herself on Instagram wearing a red and white striped bikini.
Stephen Colbert also recently revealed that he was surprised to learn that Porizkova named her celebrity “Hall Pass.”
