Jamie Kennedy has criticized Mark Hamill’s “crazy” rhetoric against President Donald Trump.
During an episode of his “Hate To Break It To Ya” podcast, the comedian addressed the recent blunder in which the “Star Wars” actor posted a photo of President Trump dead on social media with the caption “If that’s the case,” days after the assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) dinner.
“It’s insane. It’s beyond brain rot,” President Kennedy said, adding, “This is insane. Luke Skywalker lost it, man. You’re like the loud voice of the world and you’re promoting it. What’s wrong with you?”
“You can call this guy what you want, but he’s an elected leader. Obviously he’s in it legally, he’s winning, he’s an elected leader,” Kennedy continued. “It’s crazy that he did that. That’s insane. Do you know how irresponsible that is? All the people who follow you. You can write something classy and say you don’t like someone, but doing it is evil.”
Earlier this month, the “Star Wars” actor posted the photo on his BlueSky account and wrote, “He should live long enough to see his inevitable defeat in the midterm elections, be held accountable for unprecedented corruption, be impeached, convicted, and humiliated for a myriad of crimes. He should live long enough to realize that he will forever be stained in the history books.”
Hamill later deleted the post and apologized for the “inappropriate” image.
“Accurate edit for clarity: ‘He should live long enough to be held accountable for his crimes.’ In fact, I was hoping he would die, and I apologize if this image seemed inappropriate,” he wrote to BlueSky.
The White House responded to the AI-generated photo through X’s Rapid Response 47 account.
“Mark Hamill is a sick man,” the post reads. “These radical left-wing lunatics are helpless. This kind of rhetoric is what led to three assassination attempts on our president in two years.”
Hamill has frequently criticized the president.
In a 2025 interview, he said he was “truly ashamed” that the United States had elected Trump.
“It’s another thing that he snuck out in the first place. When he gets reelected, that’s on us,” Hamill said on the “WTF with Marc Maron” podcast in September. “That’s really embarrassing to me, because I always thought there were more decent Americans, more honest Americans than others.”
After Trump’s second victory, Hamill said he was proven wrong in believing there were more decent and honest Americans than “other people,” adding that he now feels like a “minority” in his country.
