Ahead of the theatrical release of the fifth and final film in the series, all three seasons of the original “Jackass” television show have returned to Paramount+ with “Restored Originals” episodes.
In late 2025, at the request of Johnny Knoxville and the Jackass team, the series was temporarily removed from Paramount+ so that it could “revisit and restore key creative elements that had changed over time.” The streamer says the updated episodes “reflect the original vision” of “Jackass” when it first aired on MTV in 2000.
“Since the release of ‘Jackass’ 26 years ago, television episodes have been re-edited, re-ordered and re-scored beyond recognition,” Knoxville said in a statement. “I found this out after trying to watch this show last year and having such a hard time trying to watch it. Wow! But kudos to Paramount for providing us with the money to bring the show back to the way it was originally broadcast. I can’t wait until you all see the awful things we did to each other all those years ago, the way we intended!”
The program is currently available to stream in the US and will be rolled out to additional territories in the coming weeks.
“Jackass” became a DIY sensation, with a cast of fearless stuntmen revolutionizing reality TV through sheer silliness and absurdity. The Jackass crew, led by ringleader Knoxville, has faced live alligators, snakes, bulls and bears. A cannon shot into the sky. He then exposed his genitals to a swarm of bees. The TV show spawned a film series that will (presumably) end with “Jackass: The Best and Last,” which opens in theaters on June 26th.
