Bethenny Frankel applauded Dina Manzo’s “crybaby” daughter Alexia Yiannou after she called the “Real Housewives” star a “freak” for not crediting Yiannou’s shoe brand “Know” in a recent social media post.
Frankel addressed the situation on TikTok on Friday, telling her followers that her team posted a fit check, but tagged another shoe brand in her Instagram story because the Nou shoes were sold out.
“Viewers get frustrated when they can’t buy something right away. If they can’t buy it, why should I wear it or talk about it?” Frankel explained.
Bravolebrity went on to stress that there is no “obligation” to “link, like, use, wear, buy, or tag” brands that send you gift items.
“The business lesson is, this person has other cool stuff on her site, and about 100 brands will watch this video and message her to tell her how much product I’m moving — how many sprinkle cookies for Melissa Gorga, how many dresses for Amy Brooke, how many jeans for Guess — because I don’t bull, I move a lot of product,” Frankel continued.
“So if you play the short game, complain, or become a crybaby when things don’t go your way in business, you’re not a real business person.”
“You have a lot to learn, because if I wore every shoe on your site, you would have sold thousands of pairs and made hundreds of thousands of dollars,” she added, saying she plans to exercise her choice not to advertise.
Frankel’s video was released shortly after she was called out via Instagram by “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Dina Manzo and her daughter for not tagging Iannou’s business in a post showing off her outfit from Friday’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Social Club appearance.
“I sent her a pair of shoes from Nou almost a year ago because I respect her. She’s an entrepreneur in the Bravo world like me and was on ‘Shark Tank,'” Ian Nou explained in the video.
“She didn’t tag us after wearing those shoes online so many times. Well, that’s common. But today a video she posted went viral and many people are asking where the shoes are,” she continued.
Iannou continued, “And instead of linking them, she linked camo and affiliate links. I think she has to get that bag somehow.”
Via her Instagram Story, Frankel posted a link to similar heels from Black Suede Studio, which sell for $345 at Bloomingdale’s.
“So she got free shoes from a woman-founded brand (my brand) and then made money by sending her followers elsewhere,” Iannou summed up to her followers.
Manzo shared an impassioned message to Frankel through her Instagram Stories, expressing her support for her daughter.
“Wow Bethenny, amazing!!” she wrote over a screenshot of Frankel’s Instagram Story. “It’s weird that instead of giving credit to a young female entrepreneur, you would post a copy of the Shop Know shoes you were given as a gift. I know you like them because you wear them a lot???”
Frankel finally credited Know in another Instagram post on Friday, fully explaining the “OOTD.”
