Kiefer Sutherland cancels tour due to poor ticket sales

Kiefer Sutherland canceled the remaining tour dates after ticket sales did not meet expectations.

“We regret to inform you that due to extremely low ticket sales, we will be forced to cancel the U.S. leg of our tour,” the “Lost Boys” actor wrote on Instagram Friday.

“I think it’s unfair for people who bought tickets and for the match venue to be empty,” he continued. “We look forward to touring the United States again at a more appropriate time.”

“Thank you for your understanding,” he concluded his message, adding that refunds are available at the time of purchase.

Kiefer Sutherland, pictured in Madrid earlier this month, announced he was canceling the US leg of his tour.

In the caption, Sutherland, 59, directed fans to her website for “all upcoming gigs.”

While some fans seemed disappointed by the announcement, others expressed understanding in the comment thread.

“I really appreciate your honesty and the fact that you don’t use your illness as an excuse. It makes you even more likable 😍,” one person wrote, while another chimed in: “It’s 100% about money and you’re not unpopular by any means. People are having a hard time affording the basics of life right now.”

A third quipped: “This is why the European Tour is always the best 🔥,” while a fourth suggested: “Play in smaller venues for real fans. I’d love to see them play!”

It is worth noting that the movie star and musician was forced to cancel several European performances due to a fall during his 2019 tour that “severely injured my ribs, made it difficult for me to breathe, and made it impossible for me to sing.”

Sutherland (who, according to his website, has gigs scheduled in the UK and Ireland in the coming weeks) recently announced that his fourth album, Gray, will be released on May 29th.

“The song was written and recorded over a two-year period from 2024 to 2026,” he writes on his official website.

“In many ways, these songs represent my personal growth, because I wrote not about observations, but about personal emotions that I have experienced in my own life.”

The “24” alum, who was arrested in Los Angeles in January after allegedly getting into an altercation with a rideshare driver, is apparently not the first artist to cancel this year’s tour dates due to poor ticket sales.

Page Six Hollywood reported earlier this month that Post Malone had withdrawn from his “Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2” performance at Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas, on May 13 due to “Blue Dot Fever.” Officials said Blue Dot Fever refers to the blue dots on Ticketmaster’s seating chart that indicate empty seats. “

However, the singer said he was skipping the first few weeks of shows at Jelly Roll because “I promised you, beautiful people, new music, but I don’t have time to finish it before the tour starts. I’m not ready to tour yet, so I’ve made the decision to postpone the tour by about three weeks to finish this music.”

According to Page Six Hollywood, the Pussycat Dolls also recently canceled their North American tour for the same reason.

“When we announced the PCD Forever Tour, we wanted to bring the show to our fans around the world,” the group said in a statement shared to social media. “After an honest review of the North American situation, we have made the heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of our North American dates.”
