Solamedia has acquired worldwide sales rights to the animated feature film “Fast Forward,” which will be premiered at the Cannes Film Market.
The project is produced by Jørgen Storm Rosenberg of 74 Entertainment and co-produced with Expanse with Fredrik Fottland serving as animation producer. The Expanse films include “A Mouse Hunt for Christmas,” which drew more than 2.2 million admissions across Europe.
The film is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2027, followed by a theatrical release in Norway through SF Studios on September 24, 2027.
“Fast Forward” is the story of a society in which every year 11-year-olds step into a transformation machine and emerge as perfect adults. You don’t need a troubled childhood. While most people celebrate new technology, eight-year-old Sienna sees what’s been lost when her sister returns as a complete stranger.
While running away from her own “transformation,” Sienna embarks on a daring mission to protect her childhood and bring back what the world has forgotten.
The film will be directed by Katarina Lowning, who is known for her work on the films “Kick It” (2014) and “Dragon Girl” (2020), and Will Ashurst, who was the director of the “Cattle Hill” series (2020, 2023) and the animation director of “The Christmas Mouse Hunt” (2025). The script was written by Martina Cecilia Behring, whose credits include the feature film “Girls Trip” (2022), and is also participating as a screenwriter for the TV series “Stayer” (2024).
Storm Rosenberg said, “‘Fast Forward’ is a visual tribute to the power of wonder in a world where we are often asked to grow up too quickly. Our goal is to remind audiences of all ages that the most important machine we have is our own imagination, and that becoming an adult doesn’t have to mean putting your inner child to sleep forever.”
“‘Fast Forward’ immediately caught our attention with its innovative and highly original premise. The film creates a visually rich and entertaining world for children and families while exploring meaningful themes of growth and individuality. We strongly believe this film has strong international potential and are excited to introduce this exciting animated adventure to buyers,” said Solveig Langeland, Managing Director of Sola Media.
