Britney Spears’ estranged father Jamie Spears was found in a wheelchair over the weekend, two years after his right leg was amputated.
At his granddaughter Maddie’s high school graduation ceremony on Friday, he was pictured with ex-wife Lynn Spears, daughter Jamie Lynn Spears and her husband Jamie Watson, granddaughter Ivy, and grandson Sean Preston.
Jamie Lynn shares 17-year-old Maddie with ex-fiancé Casey Aldridge and Ivy with her husband of 12 years.
While the “Toxic” singer didn’t attend her niece’s big day, she and ex-husband Kevin Federline’s eldest son were in attendance to support their cousin.
Jamie wore a gray suit as he watched his granddaughter graduate from high school in Hammond, Louisiana.
Lynn, 71, wore a cream dress and matching blazer, while Jamie Lynn wore a black minidress.
The 35-year-old “Zoey 101” alumnus was also seen crying as her daughter took the stage to receive her diploma.
Sean Preston, 20, wore a white polo shirt for the event and was photographed holding up a photo of his cousin with the words “Look who graduated.” His younger brother, 19-year-old Jayden James, was conspicuously absent.
As for Ivy, the 8-year-old pushed her grandfather’s wheelchair through the crowd.
Jamie, who was removed as conservator of the pop superstar’s daughter in September 2021, had his right leg amputated in November 2023 due to complications after surgery.
“He had knee replacement surgery and developed a bad infection from it,” a source told Page Six at the time.
Additional sources said the amputation was a “last resort” after several failed surgeries.
For Maddie, this day comes two months after Britney was arrested for DUI on March 4 in Ventura County, California.
The 44-year-old “Oops! I Did It Again” hitmaker voluntarily entered a rehab facility on April 12th and completed her treatment on April 29th.
Britney ultimately pleaded guilty on May 4 to a lesser charge related to a DUI arrest in March.
The Princess of Pop accepted the offer of “wet recklessness,” a reduced charge that applies to first offenses or incidents that do not involve an accident, injury or low blood alcohol level.
“With today’s plea, Britney accepts responsibility for her actions,” Britney’s attorney Michael Goldstein told Page Six after the hearing.
“She has taken significant steps to effect positive change, which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision to reduce the charges and dismiss the DUI charge in this case,” he added.
Goldstein also said the “Stronger” singer “appreciates this discretion” and is “grateful for the outpouring of support she has received.”
Meanwhile, a source close to Britney told Page Six that the “Womanizer” singer is “threaten” about Jamie’s possible return following his DUI arrest.
“He would like the chance to talk to her and find a compromise,” the source said.
However, Britney is said to still “feel resentment” towards her father.
