‘M*A*S*H’ actress Gwen Farrell dies at 93

Gwen Farrell, known for her role on the hit series “M*A*S*H,” has died. She was 93 years old.

Gwen’s son Keith Farrell revealed that Gwen passed away on Thursday in Los Angeles, TMZ reported.

Her cause of death is unknown at this time.

A GoFundMe has been set up by the actress’ family to help with funeral and memorial expenses.

“Gwen was much more than that to her family. She was a grandmother, a guiding light, and a steady source of love and wisdom. She had a way of making those around her feel supported, understood, and valued without being judged,” Gwen’s family wrote in a post.

“Her death has left a deep hole in our hearts that will never be filled. We will miss her voice, her strength, and the quiet comfort she brought to our lives. We are heartbroken, but also extremely grateful for the life she lived and the legacy she left behind.”

Gwen, the daughter of Fatburger founder Lovie Yancey, appeared regularly on the popular war comedy series, which aired from 1972 to 1983.

She appeared in 26 episodes throughout the show’s entire run, in which she played several different nurses.

In 1980, Gwen transitioned to a career in boxing as a referee in California, becoming a pioneer in a sport where few women existed. She also made history as the first woman to referee a world title fight.

“With her confidence, fairness, and unwavering calm, she earned the respect of fighters, trainers, and fans alike. She didn’t just do the job, she broke through barriers and proved that strength comes in many forms,” ​​her family wrote about her career in a GoFundMe post.
