“Saturday Night Live” writer Jimmy Fowley shared on Instagram Wednesday that his sister Christina Downer is “no longer alive.” The post came four months after Fowley revealed his disappearance.
“The Los Angeles Police Department informed the family that Christina was no longer alive, and the case officially transitioned from a missing persons investigation to a homicide investigation,” Fowley wrote. “Our prayers for her to be found safely have turned into prayers for the truth to be revealed and those responsible to be held accountable.”
Fowley explained that she believes Downer’s “phone and social media were compromised” in the weeks before she went missing. He added that those involved in her disappearance “used this incident to hide the fact that she was missing, to demand money, and to create a false narrative that she was ‘out of society’.”
“I share this because I believe those responsible are trying to erase her in every possible way,” he added. I want to amplify her story in the only way I know how. And to express that she is a beautiful person who is important in this world, especially to me. ”
Fowley continued, “I also believe that someone who knows something may find the courage to step forward. My sister can no longer advocate for herself, but I can and I hope you will too. The best way you can support me at this time is by sharing this post and telling her story. Thank you.”
In December 2025, a few days before Christmas, Fowley announced on Instagram that her sister was missing and asked her followers for help. “My sister is missing and I’m worried about her safety. Her married name is Downer, but she may be called Christina Fowley. If anyone has seen her, please share this information so they can give the information to law enforcement. Her phone number is 213-996-1800 and her case number is 25237639. She was last seen in Los Angeles. Thank you.”
