Megan Oppenheimer is currently developing a new drama series for Hulu, following “Tell Me Rise.”

Variety has learned that Oppenheimer is developing the series “Bastards” at the streamer, and she will serve as writer and executive producer. The studio is No. 20 TV, where Oppenheimer has an overall contract. Hulu and 20th TV are now moving forward with the project after Oppenheimer submitted the script for “Basterds,” which received an enthusiastic response shortly after “Tell Me Rise” wrapped, according to people familiar with the situation.

The logline for “Basterds” reads, “After a world-famous artist is embroiled in a public scandal, her three adult children, each with a different father and each unraveling in their own way, are forced to return to their childhood home to care for a teenage sister they barely know. As old dynamics resurface and secrets come to light, the siblings must confront an inheritance of love, cruelty, and chaos.”

Oppenheimer is fresh off the success of “Tell Me Lies,” which aired its third and final season on Hulu earlier this year. The show was based on the book of the same name by Carola Lovering. The drama, starring Grace Van Patten and Jackson White, follows an eight-year relationship between two college students. According to Disney, the show has streamed more than 350 million hours of all three seasons on Hulu and Disney+ since it began airing in 2022.

In addition to “Tell Me Rise,” Oppenheimer has written for shows such as AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead.” As a creator, she created the Facebook Watch series “Queen America,” starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Judith Light, and wrote the ABC pilot “Broken,” starring Anna Paquin and Blair Underwood and executive produced by Bruna Papandrea and Reese Witherspoon. In film, he wrote the screenplay for the drama “We Are Your Friends,” starring Zac Efron and Emily Ratajkowski.

Mr. Oppenheimer is repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Yorn Levine Barnes.
