‘Storage Wars’ alum Darrell Sheets’ castmates have recalled their ‘weird’ last interaction with him before his tragic death last week.
Dusty Riach said in an interview with Us Weekly published Sunday that Sheets settled for a lower offer for a product he was selling to a friend.
“It wasn’t the buying and selling that was strange,” he said. “It was really a back-and-forth, because Darrell is not the type of person to accept offers right away.”
“He was a fighter who fought for the last dollar of any contract,” Riach said. “And he was demanding a significant amount of money for a deal that one of my friends would buy from him.”
“And my friend threw him a significant deficit from his request,” he added, explaining that the offer was not a $125,000 price tag, but $50,000 for the estate collection.
“And Darrell was like, ‘Yeah, that’s great.’
Riach said his friend also thought the exchange was strange, since Sheetz would have asked for at least “an additional $50,000.”
“But at the time I wasn’t thinking anything of it,” he continued.
“It’s kind of weird that Darrell doesn’t hit back at you,” Riach added.
“My friend said she felt like she was being held in a bind,” Riaci said, adding that Sheets followed up with a phone call and reassured her that the check would be forgiven.
“Even the last time I did a watch deal with Darrell, we were arguing over $50,” Riacci said. “So I would say this was 110 percent completely out of character for him.”
Mr. Sheets tragically passed away on April 22nd from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 67 years old.
The TV personality was found dead in his Arizona home, Lake Havasu Police say.
In the years leading up to her death, Sheets spoke of depression in heartbreaking social media posts in 2018.
He leaves behind two children, Brandon and Tiffany.
