Darrell Sheets may have been searching for valuables in “Storage Wars,” but he knew his most treasured treasure was waiting for him when he got home: his family.
Not only was the reality star beloved by his fans, he was also a proud father and grandfather who clearly had a lot of love in his life.
Sadly, on April 22nd, Darrell was found dead at the age of 67 in his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
The man died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, the Lake Havasu Police Department said in a press release obtained by Page Six.
Authorities turned Darrell’s body over to the Mohave County Coroner’s Office.
After the “Storage Wars” star claimed that Darrell had recently been “tortured” by cyberbullies, police confirmed to Page Six that they were aware of the allegations and that they were part of an “active investigation.”
Fans got to know Darrell through 163 episodes of “Storage Wars” from 2010 to 2023, where he earned the nickname “The Gambler,” but it was his loved ones who knew him best.
Kimber Wefel
The status of Darrell’s relationship at the time of his death was unclear, but he remained close to his longtime girlfriend Kimber Wuerffel, who People magazine reported was Darrell’s wife.
The two dated since 2011 but broke up at some point. According to TMZ, Darrell was engaged to a woman named Romney Snyder in 2016 and dated a woman named Patti Rich in 2019, according to an Instagram post.
However, they have apparently reconciled in recent years, as Wuerfel has appeared regularly on Darrell’s social media. He called her “my girl” in a September 2024 Instagram post, but he hasn’t posted about her since.
According to her Instagram, Wuerfel is a real estate agent based in Orange County, California.
In a 2021 Mother’s Day tribute, Darrell called Warfel “one of the hardest-working women I know,” adding that he was “so grateful” to have her in his life.

Brandon appeared regularly on “Storage Wars” with his father and was given the nickname “Sidebet” during his time on the show.
He married his wife Melissa in 2015, and Darrell shared his excitement for his son on his big day in an Instagram post.
Brandon and Melissa are parents to daughter Adilynn and son Raiden.
The identity of Brandon and his sister Tiffany’s biological mother is unknown.

Little information is publicly available about Tiffany, who, unlike her brother, did not appear in “Storage Wars” with her father.
In a September 2020 Instagram post, Darrell wished Tiffany a happy 38th birthday, saying, “I’m sad that I won’t get to see what an amazing child my daughter Zoe has become.”
Darrell gave a shoutout to Tiffany “wherever you are (sic)” and said he hopes she is “happy, healthy and living life to the fullest.”
He added that “it would be great” if she called Zoe.

It appears that Zoe is being raised by her grandfather while her mother, Tiffany, is away.
The two appear to be very close, with Zoe frequently appearing on Darrell’s Instagram feed and him regularly praising her for her accomplishments.
“I can’t believe this little girl turns 18 today,” he wrote in a post for Zoe’s birthday in July 2022.
Just a few months ago, in May 2022, Darrell and Kimber were by Zoe’s side when she graduated from high school.
