Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi plans to undergo a hysterectomy after revealing her cervical cancer diagnosis.
“I’m not good with pain, so the thought of having organs removed scares me,” the “Jersey Shore” star told People magazine about her upcoming surgery to remove her uterus.
“It’s part of being a woman and even though I’m done having children, it’s very upsetting to think that I won’t be able to,” added Polizzi, who has children Lorenzo Dominic, 13, Giovanna Marie, 11, and Angelo James, six, with husband Gioni Laval.
“It confuses you a little.”
In January, Ms Polizzi, 38, broke down in tears as she revealed she had to undergo an “uncomfortable” colposcopy and biopsy due to an abnormal pap smear result and precancerous cells.
“The results are in. My doctor called me and said, ‘It doesn’t look good.’ He found cancer cells in the upper part of my cervix,” she said in a TikTok video, adding that she would need a cone biopsy under anesthesia for further testing.
The following month, the MTV star revealed that she had been diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer.
“Obviously it wasn’t the news I was hoping for, but it wasn’t the worst either, because they caught it so quickly. Thank you so much,” she said on TikTok in February.
“2026 is not going to go the way I want it to, but it could get much worse,” the “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” star added.
“Everything will be fine. I’m going to work on this and get it done. We have some work to do,” she added.
Polizzi told People that she “fell ill” after receiving the cancer news.
“I got to the car and called my mom crying hysterically thinking the worst,” she said.
The hardest part for the Dancing with the Stars alum was breaking the news to her children.
“My older two were like, ‘Are we going to die?’ They know what cancer is, so they were a little scared,” she told the magazine.
“But I was reassuring them, saying, ‘No, mom is fine,'” she said.
Ms Laval, 39, and her friends have also “rallied” around Polizzi.
“The most important thing about it all is realizing how many people care,” she said. “I have a lot of people who are here for me and they love me.”
