Searchlight Pictures has released the first trailer for Super Troopers 3, the latest installment in the cult classic Super Troopers series. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on August 7th.
All members of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe, including Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Souter and Eric Stolhanske, return for the film, which, like previous Super Troopers films, follows a team of mischievous Vermont state troopers and their mischievous antics. Brian Cox also returns as Inspector O’Hagan.
Nat Faxon (The Way, Way Back) as Captain Todd Murkowski, Chace Crawford (The Boys) as Baker Buchanan, and Andrew Dismukes (Saturday Night Live) as Coy Burns round out the cast.
The original “Super Troopers” was released by Fox Searchlight in 2001 and quickly became a cult classic. The comedy premiered at that year’s Sundance Film Festival and won the Audience Award at the SXSW Film Festival.
“‘Broken Lizard’ has been part of the Searchlight family for over 20 years, and we couldn’t be more excited to be joining the Super Troopers saga yet again,” Searchlight President Matthew Greenfield said in 2025, when filming began. “Super Troopers has a way of making the absurd feel inevitable, and we can’t wait to take audiences on new adventures with these characters, who leave a trail of joy and laughter wherever their patrols take them.”
Super Troopers 3 was written by Broken Lizard, produced by Richard Perello, and directed by Chandrasekhar, who directed both the original and its 2018 sequel, Super Troopers 2.
