Kurt Russell and Kristin Scott Thomas will receive the Monte Carlo Television Festival’s Crystal Nymph Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the film and television industry.
Both awards will be presented by Prince Albert II of Monaco during the 65th event, which will be held from June 12th to 16th at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
“We are thrilled to honor Kurt Russell and Dame Kristin Scott Thomas. Their extraordinary careers across both film and television perfectly reflect artistic excellence and international perspective. These awards celebrate two outstanding talents who have had a lasting impact on the global audiovisual world,” said Cecile Menoni, executive director of the festival.
Scott Thomas will be honored at the opening ceremony on June 12th. The actress, who most recently starred in the acclaimed series “Slow Horses,” made her directorial debut with “My Mother’s Wedding,” which she wrote, directed, and starred in.
Scott Thomas said: “It is a great honor to receive this award in Monaco, a city that has long gracefully celebrated artistic excellence.”
Russell, who will receive the award at the closing ceremony on June 16, recently returned to television in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and will next be seen in the highly anticipated series The Madison.
“I am extremely honored to have been selected for this prestigious award and am looking forward to spending time with the gentle Prince Albert. It has been a long time since I last met him,” Russell said.
The Crystal Nymph Award has previously been awarded to international talent including Michael Douglas, Helen Mirren, Donald Sutherland, Morgan Freeman and Robin Wright.
