Carrie Ann Inaba suffered a “medical emergency” during the flight and was rushed to the hospital.
The “Dancing with the Stars” judge shared a new Instagram reel Thursday night, which shows her riding in an ambulance for medical treatment.
Inaba, 58, wrote in the caption, “I was on my way to New York to work on something I’m very passionate about, and I had a little ‘medical emergency’ on the plane. I suddenly felt unwell.”
The professional dancer recalled suddenly experiencing “food poisoning” symptoms, including “numbness in her arms,” cold sweats and dizziness.
“Normally I take care of most health matters myself. Like many people living with autoimmune diseases, I travel with a health toolkit and prepare for the worst, but this scared me,” she continued.
Inaba has openly shared that she suffers from several chronic autoimmune diseases, including lupus, Sjögren’s syndrome, fibromyalgia, and rheumatoid arthritis.
While the plane was experiencing turbulence, she locked herself in the bathroom to deal with her health issues.
“The flight attendant also asked me to take a seat. I didn’t want to put anyone else at risk, but…my arm was starting to go numb and it was time to call for help.”
The choreographer has not yet released an update on her condition, but followed up with another comment below the post.
“…I am always grateful for the moments that scare or challenge me, especially when it comes to health. I often face health challenges alone, but they remind me that I am not alone. No one is alone. There are people everywhere who can help. 🤍”
Page Six has asked Inaba’s representative for an update on her condition.
Many “DWTS” pros and alumni took to the comments section to wish Inaba a speedy recovery.
Professional Pasha Pashkov wrote, “Hope you are well and feeling well,” while Daniela Karagach dropped a praying hands and crying emoji.
“Praying for the diva. I hope everything is okay 🙏🏾❤️,” former contestant Shangela wrote.
Inaba previously detailed how she was forced to make lifestyle changes after being diagnosed with several medical issues.
“As a dancer, I always try to fuel my body with healthy food and exercise regularly,” Inaba told Page Six in 2019 about being diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia in 2013.
“What really made a difference after my IDA diagnosis was working with my doctor to develop a treatment plan to manage my iron levels.”
After receiving her diagnosis and receiving treatment, the television personality began helping raise awareness for IDA, encouraging people who may be at risk to talk to a medical professional about testing.
