Nicole Richie and Joel Madden’s rarely seen daughter Kate attended Coachella 2026 over the weekend.
The 18-year-old posted a photo to Instagram on Monday from a music festival in Indio, California.
Kate kicked off the merry-go-round with a photo of herself posing in a crowd wearing a cropped white tank, black headscarf and jeans, captioning it: “@coachella 🫦.”
Elsewhere in the slideshow, Kate showed off another ensemble, a black bikini top, denim skirt, and boots.
In addition to a group shot with friends, the uploaded photo also showed a glimpse of Justin Bieber’s headlining set on Saturday.
Sofia Richie raved about her “gorg” niece in the comments.
Nicole, 44, gushed over her daughter’s friends, writing: “My favorite ❤️❤️.”
The Simple Life alum, 47, welcomed Kate in January 2008, followed by son Sparrow, now 16, in September the following year.
Duchess Kate was born as Harlow, but Nicole revealed to People in January that her eldest daughter had chosen to “go by her middle name.”
The former reality star hinted at this in a message wishing Kate a happy 18th birthday via Instagram, where she tagged Kate’s account.
At the time, Joel commented: “How dare you make a grown man cry!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love you Kate! You’re a badass (sic)! Never forget! Happy 18th!!”
Last month, the Good Charlotte member told listeners of the Dumb Blonde podcast that Kate has been going by her nickname since first grade.
“She chose it,” the musician recalled in March. “We went to[the school’s]open house night or something, and the teacher was like, ‘Kate’s so energetic. She’s such a nice person.'” And we were like, “Who is Kate?”
“I got home and was like, ‘Do they call you Kate at school?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, I like it.'” he continued. “There was no argument. It wasn’t a big deal.”
He and Nicole have been dating since 2006 and tied the knot four years later in the backyard of Nicole’s father Lionel Richie’s Beverly Hills home.
