Jennie Garth appears to have no contact with her Beverly Hills 90210 co-star Tiffani Thiessen after their infamous falling out.
“Tiffany and I’s friendship didn’t have such a happy ending,” Garth writes in her new memoir, I Choose Me, out now.
She added: “We’re not close anymore.”
The two met in 1994, when Thiessen, 52, joined the cast of “90210” season 5 as the cunning Valerie Malone.
“Her character brought tension, complexity, and fresh energy to the ensemble,” Garth wrote, admitting that she immediately “felt a sense of threat and competitiveness” toward the “Saved by the Bell” alumnus, “just as I have felt toward many of my beautiful co-stars over the years.”
Garth quickly recognized the negative pattern he was repeating and apologized to Thiessen, adding, “We became best friends while she was on 90210.” The two hit it off so well that Thiessen was a bridesmaid at Garth and Peter Facinelli’s wedding in 2001.
The two remained friends after the show ended.
When Garth, 54, began production on “What I Like About You,” an actor named Brady Smith joined the show for one episode. Mr. Garth “realized right away” that Mr. Smith was “perfect” for Mr. Thiessen.
“He was tall and handsome and from Texas,” she writes, “and I felt they would hit it off. I immediately called her and told her to come to the set to meet this cute guy…Cut to: They have been married for years with a gorgeous family.”
Garth never told the full reason behind their rift, but the two have since met by chance at auditions and dinner parties.
“The connection we once shared wasn’t there,” Garth writes.
“I learned that some friendships have a reason or a season, and ours was meaningful while it lasted.”
Theisen spoke about their fractured friendship during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show in 2012, revealing that they had a rift and became estranged.
“I’m the one who got hurt, let’s just say that,” Thiessen added.
In his memoirs, Garth also writes about the painful dissolution of his marriage to Facinelli.
