Japanese influencer Zepa has passed away. She was 26 years old.
“Zepa passed away suddenly,” a statement on her X account shared on Sunday read.
“We are very sorry for this sudden news.On behalf of the deceased, we would like to offer our deepest apologies for the news of his sudden passing,” the statement continued.
Zepa’s funeral was “held privately with only family members in attendance,” the message said.
The statement concluded, “We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the great kindness and support shown to the deceased during his lifetime.”
Zepa has over 1.4 million followers across X, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. Her biggest following is on YouTube, where she has over 625,000 subscribers.
The late influencer has spoken openly about her own alcohol problems.
In a post Zepa posted to X days before his death, he hinted that he was an “alcoholic.”
“They say the average lifespan of an alcoholic is about 50 years old…I’m already over half that mark…?” she wrote.
On March 15th, Zepa tweeted, “What exactly are my strengths…my cheerful side?Well, I’m also an alcoholic and sometimes depressed (lol).”
In another tweet, she claimed she “regrets drinking too much the day before.”
Two months ago, Zepa told X followers that he was “worried about himself.”
On New Year’s Day, she said, “I got drunk yesterday, so I don’t remember doing the countdown jump (lol).”
And in December, Zepa tweeted, “There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t drink alcohol. In fact, if I don’t drink alcohol at night before bed, I don’t feel like the day is complete, and for some reason my liver gets worse when it’s dark outside.”
“I was drinking like crazy until 7am this morning, but I’ve bounced back and am now drinking Strong Zero,” she added.
