Now it’s the Producers Guild of America’s turn to set the dates for the next two awards shows.
The guild is scheduled to hold its 38th and 39th annual Producers Guild Awards on Saturday, February 27, 2027, and Saturday, February 19, 2028, respectively, with the former being held the day before the Actor’s Awards ceremony during the final Oscar voting to determine winners.
At the most recent awards ceremony held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles in 2026, the top award, the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of a Feature Film, was presented to Warner Bros. Paul Thomas Anderson’s political blockbuster One Battle After Another won the award with fellow producer Sarah Murphy, and also after Adam Somner’s death. This film won the Academy Award for Best Picture. A key stop on the awards circuit, every PGA Top Movie winner this decade, starting in 2020, won the Best Picture Oscar. In the television category, top honors went to last year’s top Emmy series favorites, HBO Max’s drama “The Pit,” Apple TV’s comedy “The Studio” and Netflix’s miniseries “Adolescence.”
This announcement follows news from SAG-AFTRA that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has set the dates for the next two Oscar ceremonies: the 99th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 14, 2027, and the 100th on Sunday, March 5, 2028, and that the Actor Awards will be held on February 28, 2027 and February 20, 2028.
The Producers Guild of America represents more than 8,400 members across film, television and emerging media. The organization champions producer interests, including expanded health benefits, fair compensation structures, and increased access to opportunity for underrepresented communities. The PGA Awards recognize outstanding work across 14 competitive film and television categories, in addition to special honors such as the PGA Innovation Award and Career Achievement Award.
