Lil Tjay was arrested after Offset was shot and killed at a Florida casino.
The “Call My Phone” host, whose real name is Tione Jaden Merritt, was booked into the Broward County Jail on Monday and charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct, according to arrest records obtained by Page Six.
The 24-year-old musician smiled slightly as he looked into the camera for his headshot. His bail is set at $500 and is currently pending, records show.
“One person has been charged in connection with an incident that occurred Monday night in the valet parking area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood suburb,” Seminole Police told Page Six.
Officials told us that “the incident started with a riot and a fight,” and that a second person was also “detained” but was not charged.
“An investigation is underway to identify one or more additional individuals involved in the incident,” they told us, adding that Offset “remains at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida with non-life-threatening injuries.”
However, Tjay’s attorney, Dawn Florio, denied that her client had anything to do with the shooting.
“We are issuing this release regarding false rumors that Lil Tjay was involved in the shooting… as a result, former Migos member Offset sustained non-life-threatening injuries,” Florio said in a statement shared on Instagram on Monday.
“Lil Tjay was not shot and has not been charged with the shooting. Any reports to the contrary are false,” the attorney said.
“Before reflexively sharing or repeating unsubstantiated rumors, we encourage you to refer to trusted news sources and verify the accuracy of reporting.”
Page Six reached out to a representative for Offset for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.
As Page Six previously reported, Offset, whose real name is Chiari Cephas, was shot and killed on Monday near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
“We can confirm that Offset was shot and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. He is in stable condition and is being closely monitored,” a representative for the “Bad and Boujee” rapper told Page Six.
“Seminole Police Department immediately responded to the scene and the situation was quickly de-escalated,” they added.
“The investigation is ongoing. The scene is safe and there is no threat to the public. Business continues as normal.”
The identity of the shooter and his motive remain unknown at this time.
Shortly before the shooting, Cardi B’s estranged husband was seen smiling and taking pictures with fans at a casino.
Eerily, Offset’s bandmate Takeoff (real name Karsnik Kali Ball) was shot and killed by a stray bullet at a Houston bowling alley in November 2022 after an altercation over a dice game.
