20th Century Studios has released another trailer for its upcoming film The Devil Wears Prada 2, including a first preview of the new original song “Runway” by Lady Gaga and Doechii.
Featuring an upbeat dance rhythm, the track is played over the trailer.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 stars Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, as she deals with the decline of print journalism and tries to find her footing in a dying industry. Priestley will be up against a character played by her former assistant Emily Blunt, who is now a powerful executive at a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestley desperately needs.
Last year, Gaga praised “Anxiety” singer Doech in an interview with British Vogue. Gaga said, “It’s rare to see someone come out of the gate with a pen that instantly feels legendary. For me, that’s Doechii. I fell in love with her music and her raw, very personal perspective.” She added, “The power of her words, her vulnerability, the way she rhymed with a wild combination of boldness and emotional precision struck me to the core.”
As previously reported, Gaga will appear in a fashion film. She filmed her scenes during last year’s Mayhem Ball tour. “The Devil Wears Prada 2” marks the multi-hyphenated superstar’s first big screen appearance since “Joker: Folie à Deux.” Gaga also made a cameo appearance on Netflix’s Wednesday.
The Devil Wears Prada, based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel, follows aspiring journalist Andrea “Andy” Sachs (Hathaway) who is hired by the high-end fashion magazine Runway and is at the mercy of strict editor-in-chief Miranda Priestley (Streep) and her capricious, withering gaze. This creepy book is written in Roman alphabet. Weisberger briefly worked as Anna Wintour’s assistant at Vogue.
