Geo Studios and B62 Studios’ Durandal: The Revenge has grossed more than 1,622 million rupees ($174.4 million) worldwide by its third weekend, becoming the first Indian film to cross $25 million in North America and 1 million euros ($1.1 million) in Germany.
Aditya Dhar’s spy action sequel has grossed $132.1 million at the Indian box office.
In Germany, the film was the first to cross the €1 million mark, establishing itself as the highest-grossing Indian film of all time in the region.
North America delivered the sequel’s most historic overseas run, with the film passing the $25 million barrier, earning both its first milestone and all-time market record. This achievement surpasses the previous North American record holder, SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The End, which earned $20.2 million. ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has currently grossed over $26 million in the market.
Sustained performances demonstrate exceptional retention and continued audience demand across India and international territories. More than 80% of international screens showed the film through its second week, and the sequel continued to perform well through its third week.
The film’s global distribution strategy, backed by Jio Studios, took advantage of peak demand slots to maximize its screen presence across traditional and emerging markets. The sequel was shown in approximately 2,200 theaters and 3,000 screens worldwide, excluding the Gulf region, where the film remains banned, and expanded to non-traditional markets such as Finland, Uruguay, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Chile, Mexico, and Cyprus.
The sequel surpassed Durandal’s overseas lifetime collection in just 10 days. In the all-time chart of Indian movies, “Durandal: The Revenge” currently occupies the fourth place, above “Durandal” and below “Dangal,” “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion,” and “Pushpa 2: The Rules.”
Ranveer Singh stars in a dual avatar, with R Madhavan playing the role of Ajay Sanyal, Arjun Rampal playing the role of ISI Major Iqbal, Sanjay Dutt and Sara Arjun playing the role of SP Chaudhary Aslam. The film, written, directed and produced by Dhar, and also produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, was released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
