Amid mounting speculation, “Summer House” stars Amanda Batula and West Wilson released a joint statement via their Instagram Stories Tuesday morning confirming their relationship.
“While this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity as we have seen growing speculation online. It was never our intention to intentionally hide anything. Given the complex relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with appearing on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before talking about it,” the statement reads.
“Over the years, we have supported each other as friends through good times and bad, and what has recently developed was something neither of us expected. Our connection stems from many years of genuine friendship, so it was especially important for us to approach this carefully.”
“As our emotions evolve, we wanted to take the time to understand exactly what we were feeling. We also recognized that this had an impact beyond just us, and we never wanted our actions to be perceived as inadvertent in causing any hurt,” the statement concluded. “We sincerely appreciate your understanding and respect as we navigate this situation.”
The news comes as Season 10 of “Summer House” airs on Bravo, and marks Batula’s 10th outing to their shared Hamptons home and Wilson’s third. Initially, Batula joined the show as the occasional girlfriend of fellow cast member Kyle Cook, and became a permanent fixture in season two. The two married in 2021, but announced their divorce ahead of the Season 10 premiere in January. Cook and Batula are currently set to star in the Summer House spinoff, In the City, which is scheduled to air after the Season 10 finale.
Wilson previously dated fellow cast member Ciara Miller, and the two have had an on-again, off-again relationship since then, including an on-again, off-again affair that lasted the remainder of the season.
Variety has reached out to Bravo for clarification on when the reunion will be filmed and if production will resume.
There is precedent for pulling back the camera if an earthquake occurs after filming has finished. For example, when Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umanski broke up on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, or most memorably, when Ariana Madix discovered that her longtime partner Tom Sandoval had been having a months-long affair with her friend and castmate Raquel Revis. #Scandoval. (This breakup was so explosive that the original cast’s tenure ended and the Bravo series was rebooted with a new cast.)
Production on “Summer House” was restarted twice. First, in Season 8, the final moments of Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard’s relationship were caught on camera when they called off their impending wedding after a summer filled with more blowouts than happy moments. And last season, due to the breakup of Paige DeSorbo and “Southern Charm” star Craig Conover, the “Summer House” girls got together to film some additional scenes to reveal the timeline of when their relationship ended.
Rumors about Batula and Wilson’s romance first became mainstream on March 5, when a post on DeuxMoi broke the news of the pair reportedly having an affair, with the gossip site claiming that the two were “openly cheating” and were “holding hands” with Cook nearby. Although the news was previously unsubstantiated (last week, Wilson appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” and claimed he and Batula were just friends), “Summer House” fans have become internet sleuths, looking for clues that they are actually dating. One eagle-eyed fan noticed that Batula was photographed earlier this month wearing a gray hoodie with stars on it, likely the same sweatshirt Wilson wore in November 2025.
Things got even more heated over the weekend, when numerous posts from “Summer House” staff added fuel to the fire. As the news continued to swirl on March 29, Hubbard, Radke and KJ Dillard all shared reaction photos on their Instagram Stories.
Hubbard posted an image of himself with a disgusted expression on his face early in Season 10, and Dillard also shared a photo of himself grimacing during a scene from the show. Radke also posted a photo of herself looking worried in an earlier episode of “Summer House.”
The clearest confirmation that something was wrong (prior to the actual confirmation) was when Batula and Miller, who were scheduled to host an Amazon Live event together on March 24, were photographed filming separately. Mr. Miller unfollowed both Mr. Wilson and Mr. Batula on Instagram.
