Here’s the kicker.
On Monday night, American Idol host Ryan Seacrest surprised viewers by walking barefoot on stage to talk to Kyndall Inskeep, who also appeared without shoes.
The camera zoomed in on Seacrest’s toes as he jumped with the singer.
“I just saw Kyndall and thought, ‘What would that be like?’ I’ve never hosted a show barefoot,” Seacrest told Entertainment Tonight.
“I want to feel grounded. I want to feel that,” he teases, adding that he recently dropped $42 on a pedicure and “I wanted to show it off. I just got it done.”
Monday’s episode of the popular contest show also featured a new event that was the first in “Idol” history.
Seacrest announced that there would be no live reading of the voting results as an “unprecedented” 10 million votes were cast.
As he explained, more time was needed to count the votes, something that had never happened in the show’s 24-season history.
The results will be revealed on next Monday’s episode.
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time Seacrest has sent the internet into a frenzy in recent days.
During a recent “Love Is in the Air” themed episode of “Wheel of Fortune,” the media mogul mentioned using the dating app Tinder.
“I love ‘Love Is In The Air,'” Seacrest exclaimed, before joking, “I’m going on Tinder tonight, find me.”
While chatting with ET on Monday night, Seacrest said his confession garnered quite a reaction from fans and family alike.
“My mom called me too,” explained the star, who split from model Aubrey Page two years ago.
“And she said, ‘What is Tinder?’ And I said, ‘What are you talking about?'” he continued. “I said, ‘Mom, this is not what you should be doing.'” She said, “I read about it.”
Seacrest has hosted “American Idol” since it premiered in 2002.
