Nelly Furtado modeled an eye-catching silk bodysuit at this week’s Women for Women event, months after she clapped back at online trolls.
In photos from an event in Toronto earlier this week, Furtado poses in a midnight blue jumpsuit that features a corset-style bodice and spaghetti straps.
She layered her look with a matching blazer, sash tied at the waist, and sparkling pump heels.
Furtado completed her chic look with soft pink glamor makeup, some rings, and statement earrings. In the clip, she took to the stage to be honored with the Trailblazer Award as the audience cheered her on.
“So grateful to be a part of @wcbfdn’s 15th annual Women for Women event and so honored to be recognized as a Trailblazer for 2026 🥹!,” she captioned the photo on Thursday.
“Being surrounded by so many inspiring women and their stories reminded me how important it is to support our community and each other.”
“Thank you everyone at Women’s University Hospital Foundation for a wonderful afternoon 🩷 Happy International Women’s Month!”
In the comments thread, fans were delighted with the sophisticated ensemble, with one person writing: “Absolutely stunning – an icon 😍,” and another commenting: “Thank you for inspiring us 💗🌹.”
Her appearance at the awards show comes months after the “Powerless” hitmaker, 47, mocked online body shamers with a sharp fashion statement after receiving criticism for her clothing and body shape.
At Manchester Pride last August, the Grammy winner performed in a crop top, an oversized shirt with an hourglass on it, a miniskirt and a belt that read ‘Whoa Nelly’, a nod to her 2000 debut album.
On the back of the main body of the manga was a tattoo that read “Better than ever” in cursive. She also wore fishnet stockings and colorful boots for her performance, rocking boy shorts and pulling up her T-shirt to show off her bum.
In January 2025, the songstress addressed speculation about her body type by posting on Instagram wearing a bright orange halter bikini.
“This year, I realized the aesthetic pressures of my work in a whole new way, but also experienced a new level of self-love and true confidence from within,” she wrote at the time, urging fans to “body neutral in 2025” and “love every inch of your soul.”
“For those who are wondering, I have never had any facial or body surgery or breast implants, other than very recently getting veneers on the top row of my teeth,” she explained. “So far, I have not had any injections or fillers in my face or lips.”
In October, Furtado announced that he would be stepping away from the microphone to focus on other areas of his life.
“25 years later, my music has reached a whole new generation of fans and I couldn’t be happier,” she wrote on Instagram while celebrating the 25th anniversary of Who Nelly! debut.
“I have decided to step away from performing for the time being and pursue other creative and personal endeavors that I feel are better suited to the next phase of my life,” she wrote in part.
“Thank you for all the years of fun, community, and surprises.”
