Tom Felton gave his phone number to Harry Potter’s new Draco Malfoy

Tom Felton felt it was “really important” to reach out to Rox Pratt, the actor who plays Draco Malfoy in HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series. Felton played Draco in the original film from 2001 to 2011 and is currently reprising the adult role in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway.

In a new interview on Josh Horowitz’s podcast Happy Sad Confused, Felton admitted that he, like co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, sent a note to the next Harry Potter generation.

When Horowitz asked if he had been in contact with Pratt, Felton replied, “I did, yes.” “I think that’s really important. It’s very different. We were entering something that didn’t exist. Now it carries a lot of weight. So what I’m going to do is provide something other than saying, ‘Here’s my phone number. Here’s my address.'” Not just to him, but to his parents, and to everyone else out there. ”

Felton said he tries to avoid giving advice to Pratt because “this is your journey,” but said, “Enjoy it as much as you can, take as many pictures as you can, steal as many props as you can. They’ll make a lot of money. But if you need a word of encouragement or a question, I’ll be there.”

The “Harry Potter” series, which devotes a season to each book, released its first trailer earlier this week and is gearing up for a Christmas release. The show is expected to run for at least 10 years. When Horowitz pointed out that new young actors are also dealing with the toxicity of social media, Felton said that idea was “unthinkable.”

“There was no such thing. There were literally physical film cameras,” he says. “Someone said to me the other day, ‘How was the movie shot?'” And I thought, “Was it a movie?” I was like, “Of course it’s a movie.” This was back in the days when Tommy, the guy with the microphone boom, was about 70 years old and rolled a cigarette in one hand with one eye open and smoked, we’re on a broomstick. That’s how Daniel and I grew up learning Quidditch. Twenty-five years later, we’re standing on Broadway together. It’s a spiritual thing. ”

Radcliffe and Felton are currently performing side by side on Broadway. While Felton stars in the popular play “Harry Potter,” Radcliffe is performing in a one-man play titled “Every Brilliant Thing.”

“Of course, Daniel Radcliffe’s play is only 400 meters from my play,” Felton said. “I play Draco, and he opens what I think is one of the best shows on Broadway other than our show.”
