Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicole Richie and Raven Symone are set to star alongside RuPaul in the new action-comedy film Stop That Train.
Geller will play himself in the film. Michelle Visage, Chris Parnell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Charo, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Natasha Leggero, Drew Droge and Joel McHale are also set to appear.
From Bleecker Street, Universal Pictures Content Group and World of Wonder, Stop That Train is directed by Adam Shankman and stars Ginger Minge, Jujubee, Brooke Lynn Heights, Latrice Royale, Marcia Marcia Marcia, Monet X Change and Raven-Symon.
Bleecker Street owns the North American rights to the comedy film about drag queens on a chaotic high-speed train journey. In the film, Tess (Minji) and Dee Dee (Jujubee) are stewardesses who work on the glamorous Gra-Amazonian Express. But when a catastrophic “Storm Ganza” threatens to derail the high-speed train, the pair must join forces with the plucky first-class crew and President Gagwell (RuPaul) to save the day in this wild ride of camp and comedy.
Audiences will have to wait a little longer as the release date of the Drag Race producer’s first feature film has been pushed back. The film was originally scheduled to be released on May 29th, but will now be released in theaters on June 12th.
Universal Pictures Content Group will handle international rights to the RuPaul-led production. Produced by Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, RuPaul, and Shankman.
Bleecker Street recently released Rob Reiner’s Spinal Tap II: The End Continues”, Max Walker-Silverman’s Sundance hit “Rebuilding” starring Josh O’Connor, and the British historical drama parody “Fackham Hall” starring Damian Lewis, Thomasin McKenzie and Katherine Waterston, and Guy Nattif’s “Harmonia” starring Vera Ramsay, Odessa Young and Carey are also scheduled for release in the future. Season 18 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, produced by World of Wonder, is currently airing on MTV, and HBO’s two-part true crime doc, Glitterball City Murders, directed by Bailey and Barbato, is available on HBO and HBO Max.
