Whitney Leavitt is “still processing” the domestic violence scandal involving her “Mormon Wives” castmate Taylor Frankie Paul that rocked the reality TV world.
Filming on SLOMW was halted earlier this month as Paul, 31, was under investigation for domestic violence charges against his ex Dakota Mortensen stemming from an incident in February.
Things escalated further in 2023 after TMZ released a shocking video of Paul attacking Mortensen with a chair while his 8-year-old daughter Indi, then 5, was crying nearby.
Then, Paul’s season of The Bachelorette was abruptly canceled.
Leavitt broke her silence on the situation in a Q&A with Interview magazine published Wednesday, saying, “I have a lot of emotions about this and I’m still processing everything that’s going on, but the safety of people, especially children, comes first. It always comes to an end.”
“And I don’t want that to be tolerated,” she continued. “I don’t want you to miss that.”
“It’s very refreshing,” she added. “That’s all I have to say about that.”
Weeks before Paul was removed as the next Bachelorette, her SLOMW castmates had already told ABC executives they had serious concerns about continuing the show if Paul remained involved, NBC News previously reported.
The tense Zoom meeting reportedly took place on March 7, shortly after the February incident involving Paul and Mortensen. In the incident, she allegedly strangled Paul during a heated argument while Paul and Mortensen’s 2-year-old son Ever was present.
According to audio of the meeting obtained by the outlet, the cast expressed concerns about safety, reputational damage and the future of the Hulu series as suspicions against Paul mount.
“This is a dangerous situation, a sad situation, and we don’t know how to get through this because Taylor is a friend of ours,” they reportedly said during the meeting.
Ultimately, they agreed to pause filming for season five.
Meanwhile, Paul’s legal problems continue to mount.
Utah State Police are currently investigating a third domestic violence incident involving her and Mortensen, 33.
“The West Jordan Police Department is currently investigating an incident involving Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen,” a spokesperson for the department told Page Six. “This allegation was reported in late February 2026, and detectives examined a video believed to have been recorded in early to mid-2024.”
“Investigators are actively working to gather and verify information and are interviewing those involved. As the investigation is ongoing, no charges have been filed at this time.”
