Demi Moore and Bruce Willis are in a passionate relationship.
The actress, who was married to Willis from 1987 to 2000, celebrated her ex-husband’s 71st birthday on Thursday.
“All I need is love. Happy Birthday, BW! ♥️,” Willis captioned a sweet tribute on Instagram that featured two photos of her and her granddaughter Louetta.
She also shared an adorable photo on her Instagram Stories, captioning it, “Birthday love that transcends generations! Happy birthday, BW!”
Bruce and Moore, 63, were married for 13 years before splitting in 2000. During their time together, they welcomed not only Scout and Talulah, but also Louetta’s mother, daughter Rumer.
The Die Hard actor’s wife of 16 years, Emma Hemming, shared a birthday tribute of her own on Instagram, touching on Willis’ frontotemporal dementia diagnosis.
“Today we celebrate Bruce’s birthday 💙,” the 47-year-old author of “An Unexpected Journey” began. “This journey with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) opened my eyes to the reality that many families face. It led me to create the Emma and Bruce Willis Foundation to raise awareness of FTD, support research, and stand by caregivers who have so much to go through every day.”
Ms Hemming, who has daughters Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11, with Willis, added that anyone wishing to honor her husband on his special day should “consider supporting the fund”.
In 2022, the legendary actor’s family announced that he would retire from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia. Shortly after, his battle with dementia became public.
In January, Ms Hemind opened up about her husband’s condition, explaining that the dots “never connected” that Mr Willis had dementia.
When asked by Cameron Rodgers on his podcast Conversations with Cam if he knew Willis had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTP), Hemming confessed that he considered his behavior completely normal.
“I think that’s the blessing and curse of this disease. Bruce never intervened. He never connected the dots that he had this disease, and I’m really glad he doesn’t know that,” she said.
But Hemming clarified that Willis is not in denial, but rather the brain’s way of helping Willis understand his new normal.
She also added that the actor has dementia, not Alzheimer’s disease, so he knows who the people around him are.
As Hemming said, “They just learn how to adapt and learn how to deal with the situations they find themselves in.”
