Chuck Norris praised his “good health” in his last Instagram post shared days before his shocking death.
The mixed martial artist showed off his fighting skills in a video celebrating his 86th birthday on March 10.
“I’m not getting old,” the legendary actor told his followers at the time. “I’m leveling up.”
He continued, “I’m 86 years old today! Nothing makes me feel younger than a playful act on a sunny day. I’m grateful for another year of good health and the chance to continue doing what I love.”
“Thank you for being the best fan in the world,” Norris concluded. “Your support over the years has meant more to me than you know.”
In the comments, the “Missing” star thanked fans for their “amazing birthday wishes.”
Norris was rushed to a hospital on the Hawaiian island of Kauai on Wednesday after suffering a medical emergency.
TMZ reported Thursday that he was in good spirits after the incident, but the nature of the incident remains unclear.
However, Norris’ family announced his “sudden death” in a lengthy statement on social media on Friday.
Norris’ loved ones said they would like to “keep the situation private” but that when he passed away on March 19, “he was peacefully surrounded by his family.”
“To the world, he was a martial artist, an actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a wonderful brother, and the heart of our family.
“Our hearts are broken and we are deeply grateful for his life and the unforgettable moments we were lucky to share with him.”
Norris leaves behind his wife Jean O’Kelly, twins Dakota and DaniLeigh, 24, and three children from previous relationships, Mike, 63, Dina, 62, and Eric, 60.
Dakota honored her late father in a touching Instagram tribute on Friday.
“Thank you for all you have given to our family and for the example you set every day,” he wrote. “I hope I can live a life where I can respect and be proud of my dad. I love you, dad. I will miss you forever.”
