Before Joseph Duggar was arrested in March 2026 on charges of sexually abusing a 9-year-old, the “19 Kids and Counting” alum started a family with his wife, Kendra Caldwell.
The couple regularly documented their lives on a joint Instagram account from 2019 to 2021, but abruptly stopped posting in the wake of Josh Duggar’s child pornography scandal.
In Joseph and Caldwell’s last upload, the former reality stars celebrated their eldest daughter Addison’s second birthday.
Joseph was taken into custody five years later for his alleged actions during a 2020 family vacation, and was charged with lewd and lascivious acts with a victim under the age of 12 and lewd and lascivious acts with a victim over the age of 18.
The businessman’s family has yet to issue a statement regarding his headline-grabbing detention.

Joseph began courting Caldwell in March 2017 after they met at church five years ago.
The “Counting On” alum proposed to his partner two months later at sister Joy-Anna Duggar’s wedding.
“We… look forward to a lifetime together,” the pair said in a statement in May 2017. “We are so grateful that the Lord has brought us together and look forward to this special time and one day serving Christ as a man and a wife.”
The couple tied the knot in September 2017 in Arkansas.
On their third wedding anniversary, Caldwell raved about her husband, writing, “There are so many things I admire about you, but what has really become clear is how truly selfless you are. … I love you with all my heart 😍.”

Three months after walking down the aisle, the newlyweds announced they were expecting their first child.
“In this season of celebrating the birth of Christ, we are so excited to share with you that we too are expecting the birth of a child,” Duggar and Caldwell gushed in December 2017.
“We both always loved children and considered them to be a true blessing from God,” they continued. “It’s so surreal to think you’ll be a parent and have a little one of your own. I can’t wait to meet this new baby!”
Our son Garrett was born in June 2018.
During their first birthday celebration, the toddler’s parents gushed: “You brought so much joy just watching him explore all the new things in his life! You love exploring with your little fingers, your little hands, and your little feet.”
On his second birthday, they described him as a “very fun and happy child” who “loves to be outside and is the best at having a good belly laugh”.

Caldwell announced the “exciting news” that she was pregnant with her second child in April 2019, and welcomed baby girl Addison in November 2019.
The baby’s Instagram debut was captioned, “We’re already in love with her! Arrived early in the morning and already melting our hearts. We know Garrett is going to be a great big brother.”
Addison’s parents celebrated her first birthday in November 2020, calling her a “fun and energetic child.”

The couple announced the addition to their family in August 2020, calling the birth of their third child a “surprise.”
They wrote, “The tiebreaker is coming!…Garrett is already a very loving big brother to Addison, and we look forward to seeing Addison’s reaction to the life-sized baby doll.”
The newborn was born in February 2021 and only appeared on Instagram a few times before Caldwell and Joseph went on hiatus.
Baby No.4
Joseph and Caldwell have yet to confirm they are expecting a fourth child, but rumors swirled in the summer of 2023.
At the time, Jinger and Jill Duggar posted a video blog of themselves visiting family in Arkansas, and Caldwell appeared wearing a blue dress and carrying her baby on her hip.
It remains unclear whether the little one was Caldwell’s or one of her brother’s children, with YouTube users speculating that she secretly welcomed baby number four.
