Anna Camp has come out as bisexual, a year after admitting her relationship with girlfriend Jade Whipkey.
“As a 43-year-old woman, I’m very proud of owning my sexuality at this age,” Ms. Camp said on an upcoming episode of her podcast “I’ve Never Said This Before,” in a clip obtained by People magazine.
“I’m a very strong person doing this job in the spotlight to some extent, with people criticizing, judging, and making assumptions. I’m really proud to be bisexual.”
The actress also talked about going through a “huge evolution” in her 40s and “not being afraid of it.”
“Yes, there are times when I feel like I’m taking a risk, and it’s scary, and I’m doing it in public, but that’s what life is about: ‘No, I only live once and I want to be happy,'” she told host Tommy DiDario.
This is the first time the Pitch Perfect star has acknowledged his sexuality since soft-launching his romance with Whipkey, 24, via Instagram in May last year.
At the time, Camp reposted a photo from Whipkey’s Instagram Story in which they appeared to be on a dinner date.
“Her smile is poetry, her eyes are roses, and her laugh is music to dance to,” Whipkey wrote above a photo of Camp smiling over a candlelit dinner.
A TikTok from February 2025 resurfaced around Camp’s soft launch, in which the two talked about their relationship, with Camp proudly saying, “I’m dating a woman and it’s great.”
The couple made their red carpet debut at the Los Angeles premiere of Brides Hard last June, weeks after they were spotted making out.
Camp and the on-site stylist posed for photos cuddling on the carpet. Whipkey grabbed Camp’s waist and pulled him in, and the “You” alum grabbed Whipkey’s face and kissed him.
Shortly after they started dating, Camp received backlash for their 18-year age difference, but she quickly defended their relationship.
“I’ve dated men just my age and Jade is much more mature than any of them,” she wrote in the comments of an Instagram post. “We have more in common than anyone I’ve ever dated and can literally talk about anything.”
“Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I wish everyone the best of luck 🙂 Especially this Pride Month.”
This is Camp’s first public appearance of a same-sex relationship.
She was previously married to her Pitch Perfect co-star Skyler Astin from 2016 to 2019.
Her first marriage was to actor Michael Mosley. The couple broke up in 2013.
