Ryan Gosling’s “Saturday Night Live” monologue got even more exciting with the appearance of another A-list celebrity, Harry Styles.
During the comedy sketch show, the “Notebook” actor began his opening monologue by sharing that March is the perfect time to host “SNL” in New York City.
Gosling then looked at the audience and asked, “Is that Harry Styles?”
The camera panned to the “Watermelon Sugar” singer and he smiled after the audience cheered.
“What are you doing here?” the 45-year-old “Barbie” star asked Styles.
“Well, I’m hosting next week, and it’s been a while since I’ve seen it, so I just wanted to watch it and get a feel for it,” the 32-year-old pop star replied.
Gosling quipped that Styles was “very professional.”
“It’s great that you’re here. I wish someone had told me. There’s a new movie coming out. It’s called ‘Project Harry Styles.'” Well, I guess it’s a good movie. It’s called ‘Project Hail Mary,”’ Gosling said of the upcoming sci-fi film.
“And people say it’s like ‘ET’ meets ‘Interstellar,’ which is crazy, because these are two of the greatest movies of all time, so they’re like, what, it’s like double that. I don’t know, I didn’t say that,” he added.
As Gosling talks about the “perspective” he gets from making space movies, the camera zooms back on Styles, who nods.
“Sorry, why are we on Harry Styles?” Gosling asked, to which the “As It Was” crooner replied, “I don’t know, I’m just asking.”
“Well, can you please just be a little cooler and ask? I think your coolness is becoming a little bit of a problem,” the three-time Oscar nominee quipped.
Later in his monologue, Gosling performed a rendition of Styles’ “Sign of the Times,” followed by lyrics from the Barbie hit “I’m Just Ken.”
Styles released his long-awaited fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time, Disco, Occasionary, last Friday.
The former One Direction singer is scheduled to host “SNL” on Saturday.
