“Will & Grace” star Corey Parker has died. He was 60 years old.
As reported by TMZ, the actor’s aunt Emily Parker revealed that the actor passed away in Memphis, Tennessee on Thursday after a battle with cancer.
It is unknown at this time what type of cancer he was diagnosed with.
Fans may remember Corey from his recurring role as Josh on “Will & Grace.” He appeared in five episodes as Grace’s (Debra Messing) boyfriend on the sitcom.
His additional credits include “Biloxi Blues,” “White Palace,” “Love Boat: The Next Wave,” “Nashville” and “Blue Skies.”
The actor became a well-known face in Hollywood in the 1980s after landing the role of Pete in Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning.
He co-starred with Kim Basinger in the 1986 romantic drama 9 1/2 Weeks.
In 1992, Corey became one of the lead actors in the short-lived sitcom “Flying Blind.” He plays Neil Barash, a recent college graduate who strikes up a relationship with his free-spirited girlfriend Alicia (played by Tea Leoni).
The series featured a star-studded guest cast, including Lisa Kudrow, Peter Boyle, Andy Dick, and Noah Emmerich. It ran for one season.
In recent years, Corey has started working behind the scenes as an acting coach.
His coaching credits include work on Disney+’s “Ms. Marvel” in 2022 and eight episodes on “Sun Records” in 2017.
Corey comes from a family of actors. His mother, Rocky Parker, was an actress and director whose credits include “In the Mood,” “Happy Together,” and “Can’t Buy Me Love.”
After working together on a 1987 film, Rocky married actor Patrick Dempsey, who is 26 years his junior. She passed away in April 2014.
