Following the box office success of Durandal, which became India’s highest-grossing Hindi film, Jio Studios and B62 Studios have released the trailer for Durandal: The Revenge, promising an even bigger scale for the spy action thriller sequel.
The trailer sees Ranveer Singh returning with the dual avatars of Jaskirat Singh Rangi and Hamza. The story gains depth with expanded character arcs featuring R. Madhavan as strategic mastermind Ajay Sanyal, Arjun Rampal as ISI Major Iqbal and Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam. The film features intense action, sharp dialogue, and moments designed to provoke a reaction from viewers.
Dhurandhar is told in two parts, the first of which follows a decade of Indian intelligence as an undercover agent infiltrates Karachi’s criminal and political underworld. The sequel is expected to continue from the cliffhanger ending.
After its theatrical release, ‘Dhulandar’ was ranked number 1 on Netflix’s list of top 10 non-English films worldwide, and also number 1 in both India and Pakistan.
Written, directed and produced by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhulandar: The Revenge’ will be released in five languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar will also produce.
The film will be released worldwide on March 19, coinciding with Gudi Padwa, Ugadi and Eid celebrations. The producers of Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Adults avoided a major box-office hit when they announced that the film’s release date had been postponed from the originally scheduled March 19th to June 4th due to the ongoing instability in the Middle East.
