Emma Stone went on a special date with husband Dave McCully to the Actor’s Awards. The couple, who rarely pose together on red carpets, made a series of appearances this weekend. Tonight, McCurry wore a sharp black suit alongside Stone, who wore a custom lavender cardigan and sleeveless dress by Louis Vuitton. They held hands in front of the photographer.
Stone leaned into the theme of the awards ceremony’s first red carpet, set by ELLE: “Reimagining Hollywood Glamour of the ’20s and ’30s.” Her appearance with McCully took place the night after she attended the Producers Guild Awards ceremony. The actress wore a translucent white dress there.
The star was nominated for Best Actress tonight for her work in Bugonia. This isn’t her last big nod during this awards season either. She will compete in the Best Actress Academy Award on March 15 after winning the category in 2024.
Stone recently spoke to ELLE about working with Bugonia director Yorgos Lanthimos. She said she believes Lanthimos’ work has always made more esoteric ideas accessible to a general audience. “I started working with him after his first English-language film, The Lobster, came out,” she recalls. “I saw it when I was in a meeting about ‘The Favourite,’ and I was just reacting to it. His films are very specific in how they explore social interactions and the rules of society. I was fascinated by the stories he was drawn to and the way he told them. I don’t know exactly about the taste, but these are the kinds of stories that I’m personally interested in as an audience member. It was a lot of fun to work on this as an actor, and it was certainly a world I didn’t expect to enter when I met him.” Especially in 2015, we worked together many times, and he took me to places I never expected as an actor. It was a real gift. ”
